Oral & Maxillofacial surgery is a highly specialised field of surgery treating conditions affecting the oral cavity, face and neck.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department is based at the Sheffield Teaching Hospital and provides inpatient and outpatient care for infants and children with oral and facial disorders.
Our team includes six consultant surgeons, three speciality registrars, one Speciality Trust doctor and eleven junior core trainees. We work with visiting Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons from Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Referrals are taken from a wide number of sources including GPs, hospital and community consultants and Accident & Emergency Departments. Please address referrals to the Maxillofacial team, Charles Clifford Dental Hospital.
Emergency referrals can be made initially to the on-call Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Elective referrals are seen as outpatients and emergency referrals are transferred directly to beds at the Children’s Hospital.
