Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of care for children and young people in Sheffield and beyond.

Our care ranges from locally-focused general services for children, such as Health Visiting and School Nursing, through to highly-specialised world leading services.

As well as physical health, we also support young people with mental health problems through our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and inpatient mental health services at the Becton Centre for Children and Young People.

Our specialist services include:

• Muscle and bone – we have internationally renowned experts working to help children and young people with a range of complex issues and conditions such as Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease), a world-class Paediatric Limb Reconstruction Service and a national centre for spinal surgery, helping children with conditions like scoliosis (curvature of the spine).
• Neurosciences – We treat thousands of children every year through our team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, specialist nurses, our Epilepsy Service and a dedicated neurology ward. Our award-winning services can help with a range of complex cases and have access to some of the world’s best facilities, including state-of-the-art theatres and an intraoperative 3T MRI scanner.
• Clinical genetics – We see families from across the UK and internationally at risk of or affected by genetic conditions. The multi-disciplinary team ensure that families get the appropriate support through diagnosis, appropriate care and counselling services. In particular our services for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and Juvenile Huntington’s disease are recognised as internationally important.

As specialists in children’s healthcare, the staff in our services not only ensure that children receive the right treatment, they understand the importance of providing support, care and compassion for the entire family.
