Family Feedback – William

William took part in our ‘Look At Me Now’ project where we asked young people and their families who have been supported by the DCD team to record a video about their experiences.

Jo, William’s Physiotherapist, introduces the video:

“William was first referred for physiotherapy when he was about seven with significant delay in his motor and independence skills. He needed intense input both at Ryegate and at home.

As William and his family always maintained contact with me at the centre I was fascinated to see how he had progressed into his adult life and what challenges he still faced.

William was happy to come in for a chat and tell us the story of his teenage and young adult life since leaving Ryegate.

It was fascinating to see how much our input had helped William. However it was also encouraging to see how our service has developed since William was little and how many more activities we provide for children now to help them to participate further in the world.”
