Recruitment information

office staff

We recruit for a wide range of job roles including medical and non-medical posts.

Advertising vacancies

Most of our vacancies are advertised on NHS Jobs for a minimum of two weeks. However, as some of our positions attract a lot of applicants, we may close vacancies earlier than originally stated. We therefore advise you to complete your application as soon as possible.

If we decide to close a vacancy earlier than originally advertised, we will send an email notification to all applicants and they will then have 24 hours to finish and submit their application.

Agenda for Change

All non-medical vacancies are covered by Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of employment. Agenda for Change is the national pay scale and conditions for all NHS workers with the exception of doctors, dentists, apprentices and some senior managers.

All Agenda for Change positions go through a job evaluation process to make sure that employees receive equal pay for work of equal value.

Medical recruitment

The Medical Human Resources (HR) Department at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust organises paediatric junior doctor national recruitment for the Yorkshire and Humber region. The Trust is the lead employer for the South Yorkshire and the South Humber paediatric rotation.

The Medical HR Department also arranges the recruitment and selection of medical staff from various specialties and levels within paediatrics at the Trust, for example critical care, general medicine, surgery, and child and adolescent mental health services. We recruit at all levels in the Trust including consultants and junior doctors.

Employability

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust works in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and all non-medical vacancies are advertised through Jobcentre Plus.

The trust has been awarded the two ticks disability symbol in recognition of its approach to equality and diversity in its policies and procedures.

Tier 2 status

Applications from candidates who require Tier 2 immigration status to work in the UK may not be considered if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates.

To apply for a Tier 2 certificate of sponsorship, employers need to demonstrate that they are unable to recruit a resident worker before recruiting an individual from overseas. For further information please visit the Home Office or UK Border Agency websites.
