Safeguarding and child protection

child

At Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust staff have a duty to safeguard children and young people from harm.

The Child Protection Team offers advice, support and training to all staff on issues relating to safeguarding children and young people. The team consists of safeguarding / child protection specialists who work across all areas covered by the Trust.

About safeguarding

Child protection is everyone’s responsibility. If you have concerns about the safety of a child or young person while visiting the hospital, please speak to a member of staff who can contact the Child Protection Team.

A lot of help is available for families in South Yorkshire. If you know a family who needs support, you can speak in confidence to Sheffield Children’s Social Care First Point on 0114 273 4855 or to South Yorkshire Police on 0114 220 2020.
