Haematology and oncology appointments take place in the dedicated PACT and Westfield Health Haematology and Oncology Centre.
Children and their families come to the centre for day case chemotherapy treatments and outpatient clinic appointments for a variety of blood disorders and childhood cancers. The centre is open Monday to Friday only.
Many treatments for cancer are given as outpatient or day case treatment. This all takes place in our state of the art Haematology and Oncology Centre which overlooks Weston Park and opened in 2018. The centre is filled with light and vibrant artwork and has a waiting room, quiet room, play room and clinic rooms.
We also have a dedicated nursing team and play specialists based in the centre who organise daily art and craft activities for patients.
Our CLIC Sargent social work team is also based in the Haematology and Oncology Centre and are available during clinics for advice and assistance.

The Haematology and Oncology Centre is on C Floor, accessed via the Damer Street entrance (close to the junction with Western Bank and opposite the side of Starbucks).
On arrival please report to our receptionist who will inform you of any tests or assessments that may be required and ask if you need any help from our multidisciplinary team. This may include:
If you are aware that your child requires a blood test please attend 30 minutes earlier than your appointment time (this allows time for the blood test results to be taken and processed).

Please discuss this with your child’s consultant or nurse specialist if you are unsure of the treatment your child requires or the length of time your child may need to be in our department receiving chemotherapy treatment.
