Literature searches

We can answer your clinical questions and provide evidence to inform patient care. We also carry out literature searches for research and service development. Please note: we do not undertake searches for students writing assignments.

Submit your request via the literature search request form or contact the library to book an appointment.

Training is available on how to conduct an effective literature search and you can download a guide to using the Healthcare Databases Advanced Search (HDAS).

If your request is complicated or time-consuming, we may need to contact you again to discuss how and when your request can be answered. If your request is urgent please let us know as far in advance as possible.

We will normally respond to your request within 48 hours, during our normal hours of operation.
