Every year Embrace undertakes multiple rotary wing and fixed wing transfers of patients within the UK and abroad. This is in partnership with our aeromedical partners. Our years of experience have resulted in full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems – Global which is a European based organisation dedicated to improving the quality of patient care and safety of the transport environment. More information can be found on our CAMTS accreditation page.
Our specially trained staff have regular training and experience in flying patients. We have access to flight-tested equipment appropriate for the safe transportation of patients from birth to 16 years of age. Patients can be ventilated, fully monitored and on multiple infusions. Transfer on nitric oxide can also be provided.
A parent or carer can often accompany their child but this depends on a number of factors and the final decision will be made during the booking process. Our parent fitness to fly questionnaire will help to decide.

To request a flight transfer, please call our referral number on 0114 268 8180, alternatively please use our online planned transfer form or email your request to embrace.transport@nhs.net
Your referral will be triaged by one of our transport consultants who are available 24 hours a day. Embrace will assist with bed-finding and will offer advice as to whether transport by air is appropriate.
