Council of Governors

Governor talking to a parent

The Council of Governors is a group of people who represent the views of the public, patients, carers, staff and partner organisations. They act as an important link between Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and the local community.

Our Governors make sure that the needs of the local population are being met and that staff and patients are fully involved in and consulted on any changes. Guidance for prospective governors is available below.

All staff, public and patient Governors are elected by members of our Trust. You can become a member free.

Meet the Council of Governors

Council meetings

The Council meets formally four times a year to discuss the business of the Trust. All meeting papers are published here.

Governors are also involved in the Trust in other ways and attend meetings and events at the hospital and in the community.
