Young people are being invited to have their say about Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as part of a recently launched Youth Forum.

The Youth Forum is open to young people ages 12 to 18 who have had an experience of using services provided by Sheffield Children’s. The group meets every few months to have pizza and discuss issues which affect young people, and how Sheffield Children’s can help.

As well as talking about what it’s like to be a teenager in hospital, members of the forum take guided tours around Sheffield Children’s. Young people have taken part in two tours of hospital departments, including a behind the scenes look at the work of the pharmacy team.

Youth Forum Chair Eleanor Godhard, said: “Visiting the aseptic room was very interesting as it allowed me to see what goes on behind the scenes of Sheffield Children’s and meet the dedicated staff that are all working towards improving the health of patients.”

The next meeting of the Youth Forum is Wednesday 7 December from 5.30pm to 7pm at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Boardroom. If you know anyone that would be interested, email scn-tr.ypf@nhs.net or visit our Youth Forum page.
