Sarah Boulby is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who works in the Urology team at Sheffield Children’s. This advanced role involves performing tests including non-invasive bladder scanning (NIBS) for children having continence issues and video urodynamics for bladder surveillance for children with conditions which can affect the bladder and kidneys such as acquired spinal cord injuries, congenital spinal conditions and other urological conditions including posterior urethral valves.
Sarah is involved in several clinics including continence, foreskin conditions and spinal anomalies. Her role also has a large teaching element, both inpatient and outpatient in all aspects of urology care including indwelling bladder drainage devices, intermittent catheterisation and trans anal irrigation. Sarah is committed to giving her patients a high standard of evidence-based care and is involved with local and national urology nursing societies which involves focus groups and auditing current practice to ensure high standards are maintained.
