Sanj is a consultant paediatric ENT surgeon with an interest in airway surgery and voice disorders. He completed his medical and surgical training in London, and undertook a Clinical and Research Fellowship in paediatric ENT at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London in 2015-16 before joining Sheffield Children’s Hospital in December 2016. He has also completed an international clinical observership in paediatric ENT at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, USA in 2014.
Sanj is the audit lead and clinical coding lead and provides educational and clinical supervision to the ENT senior clinical fellows and ENT speciality registrars training in the Yorkshire South ENT rotation as part of the School of Surgery, Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Sheffield.
He has a keen interest in service improvement in the NHS and is currently involved in the Well Prepared programme at SCH, and has been part of a team making changes to theatre scheduling to help reduce on the day cancellations of children attending for surgery. He has also been involved in peer review of anaesthetic guidelines for pain relief after tonsillectomy.
