Mr Flowers was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1997 having qualified at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1984.
His orthopaedic surgery training was undertaken in London (RNOH), the West Midlands and South Yorkshire. He then held a Fellowship position in paediatric orthopaedic and trauma surgery in Canada at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto in 1997.
Research and training
Mr Flowers has a continued and active involvement in clinically-based research as honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Sheffield. He is a reviewer for peer-reviewed foot and ankle journals.
He is also a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society and the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery. He has served in the latter as a Board member since 2006, as Honorary Secretary and currently as President-elect.
He is a member of the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Senate Assembly, an advisor to NICE and to NHS England.
