James Steer

James joined Sheffield Diagnostic and Genetic Services in December 2001 and is Deputy Head of Constitutional Genetics.
Prior to joining SDGS, James was a Clinical Scientist at Leicester Genetics Service, having graduated with a BSc Biological Sciences from Leicester University in 1992, completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Cytogenetics at the Leicester Laboratory and then Pt1 MRCPath after joining Sheffield.

James has an active role teaching and training in the department and also lectures to medical students at Sheffield University.
