Dr Catherine Waruiru

Qualifications: MBCHB, MTROP Paeds, MRCPCH, CCT Immunology Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

I graduated from the Nairobi University in Kenya. My foundation years were in Chogoria Mission Hospital, renowned for its commitment to holistic care. I spent 8 years as a research assistance in the Welcome Trust /Kenya Medical Research Centre in Kilifi, Kenya. The British Council awarded me a scholarship to study for the Masters in Tropical Paediatrics at Liverpool. I then pursued specialised training, with support from the RCPCH overseas doctors training scheme. I completed my CCT at the Quaternary Paediatric BMT Unit in Newcastle and I am on the speciality register for Paediatric Immunology Allergy and Infectious Diseases. I have worked as a Consultant in this service since 2007 and am committed to delivering patient centred care that is compassionate and evidence based.
