Profile

I am a consultant in Immunology and Infectious Diseases; currently I concentrate on Immunology and Infectious Diseases clinic as well as inpatient care.

I studied and trained in Paediatrics in Madrid, Spain focusing on infectious diseases. I then completed a Masters in Paediatric Tropical and Infectious Diseases in Liverpool, which gave me the opportunity to work over eight years in Malawi, Africa focusing on TB and HIV care and research. During this time I was also a Lecturer at the University of Malawi. When I returned to the UK I worked in Immunology and Infectious Diseases in London, before joining the team at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in 2020.

My main areas of interest apart from HIV and TB are Global Health and Inflammation, especially in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
