Sheffield Children’s is staying the same!

In England COVID restrictions are changing from tomorrow 27 January. However, if you’re coming to Sheffield Children’s, things are staying the same.

Whether you’re coming to us for an outpatients appointment, overnight stay or unplanned trip to the Emergency Department, please remember these things to stay safe:

  • Wear a face covering
  • We’re continuing to limit parents, carers and siblings accompanying patients:
Inpatients (the Hospital and Becton Centre): two named parents or carers for the duration of the patients stay. We ask that no siblings attend.
All other areas (Outpatients, Medical Daycare, Emergency Department etc) Only one parent or carer to accompany a patient*, also no siblings to attend.
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Keep 2 metres apart
  • Don’t come to the Trust if you have COVID symptoms unless it is for urgent care. Let us know and we can reschedule your appointment or surgery.
  • We recommend families do a lateral flow test before coming to any of our sites as an additional precaution to help reduce any spread of COVID. Our staff do these regularly too.

    * We understand there are times where a family really needs an additional person present, perhaps because the child has a lot of additional needs, and then our ward and department managers will work with families individually.

We appreciate the changing of guidance can be difficult to keep up with, but we thank you for your cooperation and kindness to our colleagues during this time.
