Dr Neil Wright has been a Consultant at Sheffield Children’s Hospital since 2002. He is part of the team that provides 24 hour acute general paediatric care for emergency admissions. His specialist field is Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology contributing to local, regional and national services in these areas. He is the clinical team leader for Diabetes and Endocrinology services in Sheffield. He does regular diabetes clinics and regular endocrinology clinics. As a member of the Association of Children’s Diabetes Clinicians (ACDC) he has been involved in developing a number of national diabetes guidelines, leading on guidelines for Continuous Glucose Monitoring technologies.
His key research interests include childhood obesity (having researched both lifestyle and surgical interventions), Quality of life in children treated with Growth Hormone, and Adrenal insufficiency focusing on the diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency and the development of a noninvasive nasal drug to assist in diagnosing the condition.
