Sensory sessions for vaccinations in Sheffield

04 April 2022

Our school nursing team will be holding a relaxed sensory session for children and young people who are anxious about having a vaccine. It will be held at The Concord Sports Centre, Shiregreen Lane, S5 6AE on Thursday 14 April 10am – 2pm.

This covers all adolescent vaccinations listed below and the COVID vaccine:
HPV (human papillomavirus)
TDP (Tetanus Diphtheria and Polio)
Meningitis ACWY.

Anyone attending will need to be accompanied by their parent or carer (if it’s helpful to have more than one parent or carer, we can accommodate this safely as we have private rooms for each family).

The team will be available to provide information about vaccinations (including COVID), listen to any concerns and introduce you to resources that can help with fear of needles. There will also be an opportunity to be vaccinated on the day, if your child is comfortable with this.

Call the 0-19 Sheffield Children’s Vaccinations and Immunisations Team on 0114 305 3230 or email scn-tr.sheffielddutysn.vacandimm@nhs.net to ask any questions or book an appointment.

Or just drop in to Concord Sports Centre where we look forward to welcoming you.
