I was elected as a staff governor representing non-clinical staff in August 2021. I am a mum to 3 girls, am married to a physics teacher and have worked in the NHS as a manager for over 13 years, initially training on the NHS Management Training Scheme (MTS). One of my daughters had a brain bleed aged 4 and is significantly disabled requiring 1:1 support at all times. My oldest daughter is Autistic, so I am no stranger to diversity and the challenges of working and caring. I am passionate about people having a voice and about reducing inequalities and unfairness. I love to engage, encourage and create an environment in which others are appreciated, find their place of belonging and reach their full potential so that they can improve the world they inhabit.

I am very happy to hear from staff, parents, service users and members of the public and will do my best to ensure your views are heard. I can be contacted on sarah.baker57@nhs.net
