Her duties include ensuring staff have the information they need to effectively do their work, helping families to get high quality and clear information about the Trust and the care they will receive and supporting patient involvement through the Youth Forum.
Lea also works with local, regional and national media by providing comments, arranging interviews and hosting film crews at the hospital and the Trust’s other sites.
Lea initially trained as a journalist and worked for regional newspapers in both Essex and London. As well as general news and features, Lea also spent several years as a specialist political reporter.
Lea then moved into public relations and has held senior communications roles in both local government and the NHS. Before joining Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Lea led the communications and fundraising functions at Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
